Meet Dr. Waddell

Bill Waddell, DDS

Background

Bill Waddell DDS Dr. William J. Waddell received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in 1977. He graduated from Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1981.

A 30-year member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and the Columbus Dental Society, he continues to participate in countless hours of continuing education with an emphasis on cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He is also a member of the Seattle Study Group.

In 2003, the MetLife Dental Quality Initiative Program invited him to join as a dental evaluator. This required extensive training and they continue to train him on-site regularly. Being 1 of 10 dentists in the United States that are an integral part of this program, he conducts office evaluations throughout the country in an effort to improve the quality of care delivered by the more than 110,000 participating dentists. The result is reflected in the state-of-the-art, efficient and calming environment his practice provides.

While in dental school, Dr. Waddell went to Haiti on a mission trip. His experience left him wanting to participate in other mission trips. He finally did, as a volunteer with the Free to Smile Foundation. As a part of both cleft and dental teams serving impoverished children of developing countries, Dr. Waddell has traveled to Cambodia and Tibet, alongside with Dr. Miller. Dr. Waddell has been married to Aurora Avancena for 24 years, and has lived in Powell for as long. They have two children: Ian (16) and Serin (13). The family loves to travel and music is an integral part of their lives.

After practicing dentistry for 30 years, Dr. Waddell continues to welcome each new patient with a hand-written note.
